Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh), October 4: The Indian pace attack, featuring Hardik Pandya along with young talents Mayank Yadav, Harshit Rana, and Arshdeep Singh, commenced their practice in preparation for the T20I series against Bangladesh, which kicks off on Sunday.
The three-match T20I series begins in Gwalior, with the first match scheduled for Sunday. The subsequent two matches will be held on October 9 in Delhi and October 12 in Hyderabad.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a video of the players honing their skills in the nets, delivering fast balls with their distinct bowling styles. BCCI tweeted, "Bring out the speed guns, the pace battery has arrived! #TeamIndia | #INDvBAN | @IDFCFIRSTBank."
On September 28, BCCI announced a 15-member T20I squad for the series against Bangladesh following the conclusion of a two-match Test series.
Right-handed batter Suryakumar Yadav will continue to captain the team in the shortest format. Sanju Samson and Jitesh Sharma have been selected as wicketkeeper-batters.
Young left-handed opener Abhishek Sharma returns to the squad after missing selection for the Sri Lanka T20Is. He will be joined on the tour by Riyan Parag and Nitish Kumar Reddy.
All-rounders Hardik Pandya, Washington Sundar, and Shivam Dube have been included in the squad. Ravi Bishnoi and Varun Chakaravarthy have been chosen as the spinners, while Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh, and Mayank Yadav will serve as seamers. This marks Mayank's first national call-up following impressive performances in the Indian Premier League (IPL), where he took seven wickets in four matches despite facing injuries during the season.
Prior to this, Team India secured a 2-0 victory in the two-match Test series against Bangladesh.
